71 FAVORITE PREDICTABLE BOOKS FOR KIDS WITH APRAXIA, PROCESSES & LANGUAGE DELAYS

• Creating this book list has been a heartfelt project which has been in the works for quite a while. I love love love books and use books regularly with my students of all ages. In my “past life” I had the opportunity to sell children’s books and provide workshops on making books. Now I am happy to be employed full time as a speech-language pathologist (PROMPT trained Level 1 & 2.)

• The book list below has maintained interest of young and older challenged students alike. Any book I read may have been modified and/or adapted (with Velcro pictures and/or added to a voice activated device) for the student, depending on sounds and language needs. Rarely do I read a book word for word. I have provided a list of consonant sounds, vowels and words that I target for each book, but you may find other words which would be more suited for your students. Consider my list a starting point.

Amazon.com is my go-to for used books. I try to buy used books whenever I can. I have a slew of used books in very good condition! I recently found a goldmine of used books through thriftbooks.com. They offer free shipping on a small purchase of $10.00!

• List #2 is categorized by Titles in alphabetical order and includes author, sounds connected to book, theme, youtube connection (may be different than the featured book) and season (color coded orange-fall, purple-winter, green-spring.)
