Description

7 Years ago I started a experiment to see how 3D printing materials last outdoors. This is important as some filaments claim to be biodegradable. Other materials are popular to use outside for gardening projects or other uses.

After 7 years of exposure in the Colorado weather, I had to retire this experiment. This report highlights each filament material from PLA, PETG, TPU and other interesting filaments!

The companion YT video is now up HERE.

You can have your STEM class test this further with their own environmental conditions. Or build communication skills by requesting filament samples from the companies!

If you want to see these in person, I'll have a table at Rocky Mountain RipRap Festival in April!

Brands included in this report are

ColorFabb, ProtoPasta, Makerebot, eSun, Dikale, 3M3RMT, NinjaTech, Talulman, InVent, Katness, Nanodax, CC Product, 3D-Fuel, Wenton and others!
