Description

Use the novel to teach to expository writing standards as well as align to CCSS of theme, plot/subplot, internal and external forces as well as setting. Using a double entry journal approach students read the novel work on comprehension check questions around vocabulary, setting, citing and theme while working towards their larger objectives of expository literary essays. I have taught this in many ways in the past and allow students to choose other choices of showing their learning at The end of the novel. This unit is meant for 6th grade dual language Spanish language arts curriculum aligned to CCSS. This is a review worksheet meant to go with the novel and double entry journal.
