What educators are saying

As a Spanish teacher forced to teach English, I used this for myself, not sure there is enough here to create a lesson.

Description

Grammar terms like participle, infinitive, and gerund can be difficult for students. Ease their anxiety with this handy guide that outlines five types of phrases (prepositional, appositive, participial, gerund, and infinitive), with details on how to identify the different phrases and their functions in a sentence.

The same chart is then used to outline examples of each type of phrase. In "Fun ACT Prep" fashion, the examples reference popular musicians to grab students' attention.

To reinforce key concepts and check for understanding, we have also included a fill-in-the-blank summary of key concepts and a short quiz. Answer keys are included.

A great resource to introduce the concept of phrases or to review before a quiz or test.
