Description

***Updated 11.9.12 to include "wigwam" and "longhouse". ***

This 21 page PDF contains vocabulary cards for Thanksgiving. There are 47 cards and 6 blank ones in case you need to make your own. Each card has a colored border, a term, and custom clipart. The cards are 3" x 7.4" and there are 3 per page. Use these cards for your word wall, themed holiday wall, sorting, literacy centers, or to add to your Thanksgiving unit!

Download the photo preview to see mini versions of all the cards.

Terms include:

-Thanksgiving

-thankful

-family

-turkey (live)

-Pilgrims

-Mayflower

-Native Americans

-Indians

-horse

-dream catcher

-teepee (I realize there are different spellings. This one is "teepee". I also realize the Northeastern tribes didn't necessarily live in teepees, but I wanted to include it in case you'd like to use these for a unit on Native Americans later. I've inlcluded "wigwam" and "longhouse" which are more characteristic of dwellings in the Northeast.)

-pottery

-wigwam

-longhouse

-Plymouth Rock (I know it's not an actual rock, but it looks like one just as a visual)

-Mayflower Compact

-house

-gun

-bow and arrow

-arrowhead

-feathers

-canoe

-colony

-cranberries

-corn

-butter

-cake

-drumstick

-pie

-rolls

-ham

-mashed potatoes

-turkey (cooked)

-stuffing

-pumpkin pie

-green beans

-green bean casserole

-gravy

-sweet potatoes

-sweet potato casserole

-table

-pumpkin

-squash

-cornucopia

-place setting

-salt and pepper

-feast (family eating dinner together)

-6 blank cards (maroon, yellow, orange, brown, green, and white)

All of the graphics were designed by me as well. They are 300 dpi, so they are bright and print beautifully (assuming you have a decent printer).

I understand that different people may have different words for some of these terms (yams vs. sweet potatoes). I would love to customize the cards, but I just can't. It takes a really long time to do so. If you need a different name, then I suggest these solutions:

1. Make your own card from the blank ones

or

2. Print the cards, make your own words on a separate piece of white paper (print them?), cut, then glue over top of the original word.

Please be sure to ask any and all questions prior to purchasing. This resource is for one classroom only. If you would like to purchase for a team member, friend, school, or district, then please purchase an additional license at checkout. Licenses are half of the original price! :)
