Description

This lesson starts with an O*Net interest inventory and then dives into a job exploration project. The students are guided step by step through completing and understanding their interest inventory, as well as exploring jobs that would likely be aligned with their interests. After they explore jobs, they will use the google slides template to create a presentation about the two jobs they learned about. I also love using this before interviewing as a way to break the ice with presenting. Students in my class have generally come from Multiple Disability classrooms and have never been asked to present something before so it's a great place to start with a structured template.

Included in this lesson:

  • "O*Net Profiler Results" worksheet (Digital and Hard Copy)
  • "My job Exploration Project Planner" worksheet (Digital and Hard Copy)
  • Understanding O*Net Interest Profiler Slides
  • Teacher copy of "Career Exploration Project" Slides
  • Student copy of "Career Exploration Project" Slides (Digital)
