Description
4 DAYS of ALL DAY thoughtful scripted lessons to go with the book My Lucky Day. Great for classrooms, distance learning, and homeschooling!
An entire day's worth of work, just download and go.
- Daily lessons in reading, writing, science, and social studies are broken down into grades 1-3!
- Included is a video of my read-aloud of The Lucky Day
- Lessons are integrated, comprehensive, and engaging. Questions with the book encourage higher-order thinking skills so students can learn to think deeper about the book.
- There is no prep work on your end - you just download and go. The only materials needed are a reader notebook, writing tools, and a few science materials you can most likely find in your kitchen or outside. Internet access is also helpful to access the read a-louds within the lessons. However, if you can get to a library, you may be able to find these books (listed below).
- The books I use are My Lucky Day by Keiko Kasza, That Is Not a Good Idea by Mo Willems, and The Wolf's Chicken Stew by Keiko Kasza.
A summary of daily lessons
Reading Lessons:
Students will be reading/listening and rereading this book every day to build their fluency and comprehension skills. Each day requires students to focus on new concepts with the same book.
Writing Lessons:
Students will be creating their own fractured fairytale. I walk them through the writing process; rough draft, edit, revise, publish.
Science:
Students are encouraged to explore and research foxes and create a Who Would Win poster. There are also some comic art lessons.
Social Studies:
Students will choose a place in the world to read more about. They will also listen to other tales with the fox to find out why the fox is so popular in tales.
