    Description

This BUNDLE of monthly Spiral Daily Math packs (Sept - May) provides a comprehensive spiral math review and works great as morning work, warm-ups, math centers, small group work, even math homework — you decide what works best for your students. This COMPLETE NINE-MONTH SET of 3rd Grade spiral math is your source for spiral coverage of ALL the 3rd grade Common Core math standards.

    A Different Approach

We all know that math practice is essential, especially SPIRAL math practice. But I don't think we want to drill-and-kill our students with endless, rote problems. My Daily Math packs offer a different approach. Throughout this series, you will find motivating themes, graphics, and stories that spark children’s natural curiosity and add meaning and real-life situations to the math problems. Each month is a new adventure! Your kids will be eager for MORE MATH!

    Benefits of Spiral Review

Most math curricula offer little spiral review (if any at all). Yet spiral review is crucial for retention. Research shows that ongoing, repeated practice leads to better long-term mastery of skills and better test scores. In my Daily Math packets, material is revisited repeatedly over months. Simply put, I don’t give students a chance to forget because they practice the content all year long.

    And, Don't Overlook...

For even more savings, this bundle is also packaged with other bundles...like my Spiral Daily Math Quizzes (assessments that keep skills fresh all year) and my Spiral Math Homework (themed, weekly sets of fun). Scroll back up to find these mega packs!

Unique Features of Spiral Daily Math

★ Comprehensive Coverage – This resource covers every single 3rd grade Common Core math standard—not once, not twice, but many times throughout the year. September starts with a review of key 2nd grade concepts, with 3rd grade skills building gradually and spiraling thru the year.

★ Varied Themes – Every month has new themes. Why is this important? Because monthly themes motivate students and provide a context for their learning. The content is AUTHENTIC and allows for real-life problem-solving, instead of random, unrelated problems. I use cute and entertaining graphics that tie into the monthly themes. And, themes allow me to weave in some social studies and science content – fun stuff!

★ Spiral Review – New content is introduced each month, but previous content is also reviewed in a seamless manner. Constant review adds up to a more holistic approach to teaching math and yields better test scores. No more forgetting what they learned in September—your students will be practicing the concepts all year long.

★ Varied Problem Types – Many different kinds of problems—puzzles, error analysis, rigorous problem solving, specific strategy work, facts practice, compare/contrast, and open-ended questions—keep kids thinking.

★ Word Problems – Our students need to be able to APPLY their math skills by solving lots of novel word problems. Problems are easier at first and become more challenging as the year progresses.

READ what teachers are saying about this 3rd grade spiral resource:

These are well worth the money! I used the first grade set as well. They are so easy for the kids to use and help cover all of the concepts. I love them. –Kara R.

Amazing! Thank you. Our school's principal and PALM believe that one of the contributing factors our two 3rd grade classes scored the highest in the district was using your packages for Bell Work every day! –Rita W.

Love, love, LOVE these! I had been doing calendar math but that gets boring to me and my students after a few weeks. These have variety, don't take very long, and my students love them as well. Thank you so much for your work that you put into these! –Krista O.

I used the first grade version of this product last year and FELL.IN.LOVE! When I moved up to third grade I knew it was a must have for my math warm up. Thank you!! –Gretchen A.

Tell and write time to the nearest minute and measure time intervals in minutes. Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of time intervals in minutes, e.g., by representing the problem on a number line diagram.
Measure and estimate liquid volumes and masses of objects using standard units of grams (g), kilograms (kg), and liters (l). Add, subtract, multiply, or divide to solve one-step word problems involving masses or volumes that are given in the same units, e.g., by using drawings (such as a beaker with a measurement scale) to represent the problem.
Draw a scaled picture graph and a scaled bar graph to represent a data set with several categories. Solve one- and two-step “how many more” and “how many less” problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs. For example, draw a bar graph in which each square in the bar graph might represent 5 pets.
Generate measurement data by measuring lengths using rulers marked with halves and fourths of an inch. Show the data by making a line plot, where the horizontal scale is marked off in appropriate units-whole numbers, halves, or quarters.
Recognize area as an attribute of plane figures and understand concepts of area measurement.
