Description

I teach 3rd grade, and every year I have a handful of students who have already mastered the 3rd grade standards and are ready for a challenge. I give them these challenge packets to work on during math centers or while other students are doing independent practice, and they can work either alone or in pairs. Great as a challenge for very advanced 3rd grade students or for 4th grade students!

Packet includes 6 word problem logic puzzles as well as an answer key.

Knowing that 8 × 5 = 40 and 8 × 2 = 16, one can find 8 × 7 as 8 × (5 + 2) = (8 × 5) + (8 × 2) = 40 + 16 = 56. (Distributive property.)
