30 Days of National Poetry Month - PPT and Journal

This resource combines my 30 day National Poetry Month resource with my 30 day Poetry Journal. While these resources can be purchased separately, they were designed at the same time and function best when used together.

This resource rotates focus each day. The pattern is a day highlighting a specific children’s poet, a day teaching a type of poem, a day highlighting a children’s poet, and then a day teaching a specific poetry tool. For a more detailed layout, you can view the calendar in the product preview.

If you are familiar with my A-Person-A-Day History/Heritage month resources, then you will be familiar with this format as it is designed to function in the same way.

Included in the PDF-printable journal resource:

• Poetry Journal (cover and a response/prompt page for each day- 30 total)
• Poetry Center Resources (anchor charts and/or idea sheets to aid students in completing the daily page independently at a center)
• Each day of the journal is paired to match the PPT Poem-A-Day, if you are using the journal without the PPT, I suggest having mentor texts, example poems, or YouTube videos available to help students best understand the poetry task of the day. (YouTube link, book recommendations, and examples are provided if you also purchase the PPT.
