Description
Think you have what it takes to beat the big bad wolf?
This STEM challenge will have your kiddos working together to build a house to withstand the big bad wolf from the three little pigs!! This challenge works perfectly in coordination with your fairy tale and fable units after studying the many versions of the three little pigs!
This challenge comes with a list of supplies, jobs needed, a space for blueprint designs, and real engineering concepts to push your little engineers thinking!
After completing the challenge, encourage your little engineers to reflect on their practice with the added engineering reflection page! Ture engineers are pushed constantly to better their previous ideas.. what could have been done differently? What could be done to improve on your already successful design?
These design challenges work great for students in pairs and small teams in stations, or as a culminating challenge! Teamwork, cooperation, perseverance, accomplishment, problem solving skills, and so many more are gained through student led discovery. Engineering/design challenges are the perfect tool to enhance your STEAM centers and encourage engineering thinking in your classroom.
Where do you get the supplies? We picked up everything we needed at the dollar tree, but often you can get donations from your parents and kiddos or even through donors choose! Keep an open mind and please don't hesitate to ask me for pictures or suggestions! We love engineering days in our class and I hope you do too!! :)
