These fourteen reading passages are fictional texts with corresponding comprehension questions that focus on the following:
- Identifying setting and characters
- Describing character's feelings and traits
- Identifying the problem and solution
- Defining tier 2 vocabulary using context clues
- Determining author's purpose
- Making inferences and predictions
- Identifying phonics patterns
Each passage has blank spaces for you or your students to add names for the main characters. Making your students the characters in a text can increase interest and motivation!
