This set of 10 2D Shapes Books / Leveled Easy Reader is a great way to teach students about shapes in English & Spanish using very simple and beginner friendly text!

How to use these books?

• Guided Reading Groups & Small Groups - Use this book as a tool for guided reading practice in the classroom to introduce beginning sounds or letters.
• Whole Group Read Aloud - Display the book onto a projector and model reading the book as a whole group read aloud.
• Additional Practice / Homework: Print and send book home with students to allow students access to books at home, and for additional practice.

What is included? There are two versions of each Easy Reader included.

1. A teacher version in color (English & Spanish).
2. Student black line version to color, and save on ink (English & Spanish).
3. Vocabulary Cards (English & Spanish)
4. Sound / Word Study Cards (English & Spanish)
5. Additional Practice (English & Spanish)
   - Cut & Sort: Students will cut & sort 12 different objects by identifying the shape. The shapes coordinate with the shapes seen in the book.
   - Identify & Color: Students color the objects that are the correct shape. This includes new objects that the student will have to apply knowledge to identify if they are correct or not.

Suggested Guided Reading Level: B

1. Characteristics of Texts at Level B - Simple factual texts, with text and concepts highly supported by pictures, two or more lines of text on each page, repeating language patterns, very familiar themes and ideas with short predictable sentences, and almost all vocabulary is familiar to children.
2. Characteristics of Early Readers at Level B - Students recognize and apply repeating language patterns, they have stronger awareness of left-to-right directionality, stronger awareness of 1-1 matching, they learn the concept of sweeping from one line of text to another, and are able to distinguish and identify more letters according to their distinct features, they are also growing their core of high-frequency words.
