What educators are saying
Description
The thirteen original colonies and colonial exploration are introduced in a 25-slide presentation (PowerPoint & Google Slide options). Plus, you can keep your students' attention with guided notes! The notes are designed in an engaging format allowing for students to add some color to their papers.
This zipped file includes:
★ Settling America PowerPoint / Google Slides: This 25-slide presentation introduces students to the development of the 13 British colonies and more. It begins by looking at early exploration, the reasons for colonial exploration and early notable explorers. Native Americans are discussed as are early territories claimed by France, Spain and England. Students learn about the lost colony of Roanoke and the Jamestown settlement. Focus then turns to the 13 colonies including maps, founding dates and important economic information for each region: New England, Middle and Southern.
★ Guided Notes Worksheets: Nine worksheets follow along with the content of the presentation to keep students engaged. Stop those fidgety hands by giving them colored pencils to add some style & emphasis to their notes.
★ Answer Keys / Posters: Answer keys for the doodle notes are included. They also make great posters to display when printed on colored paper.
