Description

5th Grade Measurement and Data Google Task Cards Bundle:

These 30 task cards are aligned to meet all Common Core standards in the Measurement and Data domain. Designed to make the classroom efficient and interactive, these task cards are presented as 5 self-grading Google Forms that automatically generate a spreadsheet of student scores, making grading papers a thing of the past. Simply copy and paste the values into your gradebook (or link your Google gradebook), and your grading is done. These Google Forms even show graphical response data, making it easier than ever to assess your students' mastery of measurement and data.

5.MD.1: Convert among different-sized standard measurement units within a given measurement system (e.g., convert 5 cm to 0.05 m), and use these conversions in solving multi-step, real world problems

5.MD.2: Make a line plot to display a data set of measurements in fractions of a unit (1/2, 1/4, 1/8). Use operations on fractions for this grade to solve problems involving information presented in line plots.

5.MD.3: Recognize volume as an attribute of solid figures and understand concepts of volume measurement.

5.MD.4: Measure volumes by counting unit cubes, using cubic cm, cubic in, cubic ft, and improvised units

5.MD.5: Relate volume to the operations of multiplication and addition and solve real world and mathematical problems involving volume.

These digital task cards are perfect for laptops, iPads, Chromebooks, and tablets of all brands and operating systems! While these assessments integrate seamlessly with Google Classroom, Google Classroom is not required in order to use them.

The product file is a simple PDF with a link to my Google Drive folder where you can copy the resources for your own use. You will need a free Google account (if you don't already have one) in order to view your students' scores and a detailed, auto-generated report of their performance.

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Convert among different-sized standard measurement units within a given measurement system (e.g., convert 5 cm to 0.05 m), and use these conversions in solving multi-step, real world problems.
Make a line plot to display a data set of measurements in fractions of a unit (1/2, 1/4, 1/8). Use operations on fractions for this grade to solve problems involving information presented in line plots. For example, given different measurements of liquid in identical beakers, find the amount of liquid each beaker would contain if the total amount in all the beakers were redistributed equally.
Recognize volume as an attribute of solid figures and understand concepts of volume measurement.
A cube with side length 1 unit, called a “unit cube,” is said to have “one cubic unit” of volume, and can be used to measure volume.
A solid figure which can be packed without gaps or overlaps using 𝘯 unit cubes is said to have a volume of 𝘯 cubic units.
